First Aid & Mental Health Training
First aid does more than help save lives.
Although first aid training undoubtedly helps to save lives it also can help to reduce a person's recovery time and make the difference between the patient having a temporary or long term disability.
Now more than ever, Mental health matters and we are keen to encourage people to be trained in First aid for mental health and help to break the silence and stigma associated with mental health conditions.

Mental Health First Aid provides information and resources you can offer to someone to provide emotional support and practical help. There are many professionals who can offer help when someone is in crisis or may be experiencing the signs and symptoms of a mental illness or addiction.

Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE)
When it comes to respiratory protective equipment (RPE), it’s paramount that fitting is adequate and suitable. Not only is this vital to protect the health of all workers involved with the asbestos services work, but it is also a control measure under Health and Safety Legislation.
The purpose of RPE is to reduce exposure to as low as reasonably practicable, and in any case to an acceptable level (e.g. below any applicable Workplace Exposure Limits or Control Limits).

You must ensure that selected RPE has the potential to provide adequate protection for individual wearers. The ACoPs supporting COSHH, CAR and CLAW stipulate that tight-fitting RPE must be fit tested as part of the selection process, so you do not select inadequately fitting facepieces for use. Ill-fitting facepieces can create inward leakages of airborne contaminants, increasing the risk of asbestos-related illnesses and even death.

In addition to face fit testing Nichol Associates also offers RPE training courses to ensure competency within your workforce, delivered by our highly trained and 'Fit2Fit' accredited tutors.
